Yay for making it to the pool!

The hospital usually lets you take anything in the room that's disposable: 2 oz. bottles of formula w/nipples, diapers, wipes. A lot of people grab a receiving blanket for sentimental reasons.

Wow! Pool party!

The last minute thing makes complete sense, but would drive me insane. What a good idea, to get a list together and have all the pieces in place.

I just broke it to my colleagues in a planning meeting that they should "plan" for the fact that I may be out for a while with little notice, and btw, I can't tell them when because I can't "plan" it.

thanks for the list. we are SO not prepared on the logistics side. probably because my hub is convinced it's going to take a LONG time, and whenever he says that out loud, I tell him to shut up. nice huh?

Sounds like you have a good plan!(and sounds like a pretty exhaustive list).

As for what the hospital gives you on the way home, I think it also depends on how (nice) your nurse is... I came home with a boatload of stuff, but with everything hurting economically these days, I'd probably prepare to receive nothing (and then be grateful if you do come home with a lot)!

Yay for being in the pool and yay for babies (last minute or otherwise!)! Just remember that I'm right here at a moment's notice for whatever you need -- house sitting, dog and cat fixins, shopping! Oh, and send me the list of guests for the baby shower that we will have when it's time!! Auntie Kelly is on the job!

Oh my god. Last minute placements? Really? Because you're not wound up tight enough already?

Congrats on diving into the pool! I can't tell you how cool I think that is. Lately I've been having more and more fantasies about adoption. I think that means we're nearing the end of our IVF road.

Hoping you had a Happy Thanksgiving.
