Mrs.X

I can personally attest to the harmony that comes from having a cleaning service. I too hate cleaning (although I suspect dirt doesn't bother me as much as it bothers you), but I never even wanted to clean because there was no way to get it as clean as it should be. Enter the maid service. In an hour, the house is sparkling and pretty. And, we have two furry, shedding cats (and one messy husband).

I guarantee it will make you feel so much better.

So Hilarious! Sadly I think most marriages are comprised of one organizer and one sloppy/mess maker--its the rules--

Anyway, Im glad your able to get a cleaning service, what a treasure.

A cleaning crew would help my marriage, too, but it's not in the cards at the moment.

Regarding the cat hair, one of my colleagues has two shedding dogs and he got one of the robot vacuum cleaners (I think it's called a roo.mba). He swears by it. he programs it to go out every night at 1 am and it vacuums up his dog hair. He has to clean out the filter very often but he keeps the dog hair situation under control in a painless way (at least on the floor).

We're in the same boat as far as the messy/neat couples breakdown goes. I ended up giving away or selling the throw rugs or smaller area rugs, moving to a lighter-shade area rug (they make neat eco ones out of some kind of polyurethane) and slowly moving to leather/pleather furniture as we cycle on. No throw pillows or drapes allowed. Huge difference. The Swiffer then takes care of all the bare floors nicely. Place looks bigger, too.
