I'm a 46-year old woman living in the Pacific Northwest. The Mister and I have been through the infertility jungle and emerged on the other side.

Over a 2-year period, we had 3 IUIs (one with Clomid), 2 IVFs (one chemical pregnancy and one BFN), a brief dalliance with donor eggs, and a miracle pregnancy on a rest cycle that ended in a heart-breaking 11-week miscarriage.

We heard the universe's message loud and clear, and moved on to domestic open adoption. In January 2009, we drove through a snowstorm to greet our son. He was 3 days old and changed our lives forever.

In 2010, we decided to add to our family using donated embryos. We had an open relationship with the genetic family of our first embryos; sadly, the pregnancy only lasted a few weeks. Our second attempt, through a closed donation, resulted in a viable pregnancy. In January 2012, I gave birth to our beautiful daughter, and our little boy became a proud big brother. It's been a long and winding journey, but our family is now complete.

This is my space to contemplate that experience. Welcome.
